Passion and innovation
The beginnings
It was in 1951 that our founder, Giorgio Serafin, then aged 16, worked in a coal mine in Belgium. It was during this period that a construction engineer offered the young man the opportunity to go to school.

The origins
Coming from a farming family in northern Italy, Giorgio spoke only Italian.

Perseverance
Braving all obstacles, he learned French during his time at school and managed to successfully obtain his diploma in diesel locomotive mechanics.
Giorgio and his diploma acquired during his time in Belgium. It was also thanks to this course that he learned French and was able to immigrate to Canada.

In 1959, with $ 300 on his, he and his wife, Angelina Grosso, then pregnant with their first child, set off by boat to the New World. After working for different manufacturer in Canada, Giorgio Serafin and his kids then decide to start their own business.

A family matter
Thirty-two years later, with the vision of working for himself, he decided in 1991 to open the Serafin Volvo Truck Center here with his children. A trio is then formed: Giorgio Serafin with his mechanical knowledge; Max Serafin, his son, for his administrative sense; and Elsa Serafin, his daughter, with her strength in customer service. For 30 years, the company went through huge changes and distinguished itself by its ability to adapt across various markets.
In 2015, the Serafin Truck Center became Serafin Solutions Inc. to reflect a more accurate image of who we are: a service center that aims to offer the most advantageous solutions to our customers. Several corporate relationships were created between 2015-2020: ZF, Prévost, Nova Bus, the Port of Montreal, the Port of Halifax, Polytechnique University of Montréal as well as various public and off-road transport companies are part of our partners who have greatly helped to develop our vision.

Today
Today, Elsa Serafin,Max Serafin and his daughter, Phenicia, the third generation of Serafin, are working to push the family business forward. The watchword becomes innovation and knowledge sharing. More than ever, we care about our customers, with whom we are growing every day.
